Quote from Dogmeat
well, if it is a temporary thin, until that stuff gets added, you could reduce the travel time(smiley)

I already said in another thread that I would reduce it to 10-15 minutes for now.

The point is, you have the 'newbie' space then you are travelling straight to high level space.

In the future, this is not so. You don't just travel from low to high so abruptly. There will be many locations between them.

So let me see if I got this figured out.

I just waited around for DMZ 05 for over an hour, then 30 minute travel to Terran Outpost 81 and when I get here I can't do anything?

Now I gotta wait another 30 minutes for another shuttle, DMZ 04 to go to another planet?

And all this time I am expected to just sit here in front of my PC and waste time not gaining any experience or credits?

At some point in the approximate 2 hours I have been sitting here waiting I have accomplished writing 2 responses, and a few chat lines trying to figure out how I can start playing the game.

I always thought only new players where supposed to have problems becoming acclimated to playing a game, not higher leveled experience players. (smiley)

You don't only need to sit there and wait, you could do other things so long, just do not forget to get on ship.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, you don't have to sit there and watch the time count down... if it says arriving in 35 minutes, go do something else for 35 minutes =/

Everybody agrees with the necessity of imposing *some* time to pa** between getting from one sector of the 'galaxy' to another.

However, I'm thinking of the normal player, that logs in at work during the lunch break to play a bit. He doesn't have the time nor the mood to stare blankly at the viewscreen seeing it's taking him 30 minutes to get to the next destination.

This would of course be OK:

- if there would be something to do while aboard the ship beside waiting;
or
- if there would be another interesting destination in that 30 minutes travel.

Since such 'travel past times' and in-between destinations are to be added but they're not actually available yet, it would seem reasonable to decrease a bit the waiting times.

Statistically speaking, players logging in casually (i.e. not spending 8+ hours a day on FRP like me, for instance) really want to play starting with the moment they log in.

Does this sound reasonable? (smiley)

I will increase the vessel's engine capability temporarily.
